These VERY special, intimate six day and five night artist retreats are a unique Yosemite art and nature immersion, based at beautiful private homes in Foresta, inside the Park, and the Evergreen Resort, just outside the park boundary. Nearby painting locations include Yosemite Valley, Hetch Hetchy, and the Tuolumne Grove of Big Trees.

This retreat is limited to 12, with shared lodging. The intimate format is excellent for individuals, couples and small groups of friends. It is a unique opportunity to meet new and interesting people who want to share art, nature, and the Yosemite experience.

Each day you will enjoy hands on art instruction with two landscape plein-aire instructors: Lex Munson and Susan Barry. Both of these acclaimed artists have been teaching workshops for over 30 years.

This small retreat offers personal attention in all skill levels of plein-aire water media painting, drawing, design, and photography.  The focus is on YOU, and the “Art of Living”. Learn how to See, Absorb, Design, Create, and Live Life through your Artists Eye.

This all-inclusive package includes: five nights lodging, daily continental breakfast and lunch available at the house, two outdoor dinner parties, a private guided tour of the Yosemite Valley, short hikes, and other nature and history sessions. Also included are a personal Field Art Journal to artfully record your Getaway experience, on site photos of your subjects to use later, a cd of trip photos, and much more.

Enjoy plenty of free time to explore. Immerse yourself in art, explore on your own or with the group. Participating friends and non-artists will enjoy any or all of the getaway retreat options they choose.

Retreat cost ranges from $1,500 to $1,750 per person depending on lodging and availability. A $500 (cash or check) non-refundable deposit will reserve your spot.
